ON Digital Publishing operates OnMesa.com, a local guide to . This policy explains what we collect, why, and what you can ask us to do about it. It is written to be read rather than to be impressive.

What we collect

When you simply read the site, we collect the ordinary things a web server and an analytics tool record: the pages you view, roughly where in the world you are, which site sent you, and what kind of browser and device you use. We do not know your name from this.

We collect information you type in, when you choose to type it in. That means: contact and enquiry forms, submitting an event, claiming or adding a business listing, applying to write for us, and subscribing to the newsletter. Those forms ask for a name and email address, and sometimes a phone number or business details, because we cannot reply otherwise.

If you buy a directory listing, payment is handled by our payment provider. We receive a record that a payment happened and what it was for. We never see or store your full card number.

Analytics

This site does not currently run analytics.

Cookies and your choices

Cookies are small files a site stores in your browser. We use them to keep the site working, to measure usage, and — where ads run — for advertising.

If you are in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, analytics and advertising storage are switched off by default until you choose otherwise. Everywhere else they default on, and you can turn them off as described here.

We honour Global Privacy Control. If your browser sends a GPC signal, we treat it as an opt-out of sharing your information for advertising and disable advertising cookies automatically. You do not have to ask us. Several US states require this; we would do it anyway because it is the clearest signal a reader can send.

You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Parts of the site may work less well if you do.

What we never do

We do not sell your name, email address or phone number to anyone. We do not add you to a mailing list because you filled in an unrelated form. We do not use your information to build a profile of you for anyone else.

Who else sees your information

Only the people and services that need to: our hosting and email providers, our payment provider, and Google for the analytics and advertising described above. We disclose information beyond that only when the law requires it, or where it is genuinely necessary to protect someone.

If a business listing on this site is claimed, the person who claimed it can see enquiries sent to that business through our forms. That is the point of the form.

How long we keep it

Form submissions and enquiries are kept while they are useful for answering you and for our own records, and are removed when they are not. Analytics data is retained according to Google’s settings for our account. Newsletter subscriptions last until you unsubscribe, which every email we send links to.

Your rights

You can ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, and tell us to stop using it for targeted advertising. Some laws grant these rights only to people in particular places. We would rather not ask where you live before honouring a reasonable request, so they are open to anyone who asks.

Email [email protected] and tell us what you would like, with enough detail for us to find your information. We aim to reply within 30 days, and we will tell you if something is going to take longer.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has sent us something, email us and we will delete it.

Changes

We update this policy when what we do changes. The date at the top is the last time it changed. Material changes will be noted on this page rather than made quietly.
